- Interdomain Routing, BGP, Traffic Engineering
- Data processing and analysis, Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning, Game Theory
- Working with Large Scale Platforms for Internet Measuremeants [e.g., RIPE Atlas]
- Analysis of economic aspects of the Internet Ecosystem
- Process large amounts of Internet routing data to detect routing anomalies in terms of backfired BGP routing policies: The BGP Visibility Scanner

Short biography

Andra Lutu completed her undergraduate studies in July 2009 at the "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Information Technology. She received her BSc. in Telecommunication Networks and Software.

In October 2009, Andra joined Institute IMDEA Networks as a Research Assistant, where she worked under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marcelo Bagnulo. Andra graduated from the Master programme in Telematics Engineering from University Carlos III of Madrid in September 2010, after defending the Master Thesis titled "Game Theory Applications to Interdomain Routing". In October 2010, she subsequently joined the Telematics Engineering Department at University Carlos III of Madrid as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marcelo Bagnulo. Andra defended her PhD thesis titled "A System for the Detection of Limited Visibility in BGP" on the 11th of November 2014.

During June-July 2012, Andra has been a part of the summer internship programme at Internet Initiative Japan - Innovation Institute. She has also visited CAIDA/UCSD in May-August 2014.
