Nicola Bui received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Telematics from the Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain) in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He is a SR. Research Scientist at the Northestearn University in Boston. His current research focus is on 5G mobile networks and anticipatory networking. In particular, his work combines practical tools to monitor and measure the performance of mobile networks and theoretical studies for their optimization and modelling. From 2014 to 2017 Nicola has been a Research Engineer at IMDEA Networks Institute in Madrid (Spain) where he lead the integration and assessment within the European project eCOUSIN. In 2015 Nicola has been a visiting researcher at Nokia Bell Labs in Stuttgart. From 2006 to 2013, he has been CEO at Patavina Technologies, spin-off of the university of Padova (Italy) developing embedded systems. At the same time he has been collaborating with Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche (Italy) and with the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padova (Italy). During this time, he contributed to many European and Italian projects such as e-SENSE, SENSEI, IoT-A, WISEWAI and SWAP, which covered different aspects of the Internet of Things, from basic sensor network communication to Internet integration and self-sustainable networks. Nicola authored more than 50 conference and journal papers.
